AB108

Against Does not allow time to study the issues in the community for transients new to our state. Should be amended to require registration at least 6 months prior to an election. May-30-2011
For The only voter fraud going on is the failure of the electorate to educate itself as to the actual facts. If the people commenting on this legislation were so concerned about voter fraud, then they would insist that the current system of electronic voting as insinuated on us by corporations like Diebold and Sequoia be overturned and replaced with a traceable and accountable system. May-22-2011
For May-14-2011
Against Why is AB108 still alive? Who is still promoting this new way to corrupt our elections? It has zero potential for adding anything good to our American system of governance. Kill it now! May-06-2011
Against AB108 is an outrageous attempt to allow more corruption opportunities in our elections. How could it get this far without being killed? Put an end to it now, and spend your time more wisely on the important matters facing the Legislature! May-06-2011

Against AB-108? Don’t we have enough voter fraud in the state? Why would we want legislation to encourage more? All one has to do is look at the fraudulent voter registration that has taken place in Clark County to see what the results of this bill would be. We should be passing legislation to require proof of identity and citizenship to vote not to encourage voter fraud. Mar-24-2011
Against The right to vote is not just a right, it is a privilege for CITIZENS of the United States and Nevada. We already have election fraud with people not required to show any identification to vote. You should have to register to vote at our current deadline, and when registering to vote and voting should show a birth certificate or passport as proof of US citizenship. This bill promotes anyone, legal or not, to show up and just vote, a right reserved for CITIZENS!!! Mar-23-2011
Against This one is a no brainer...Of course there needs to be a deadline to register to vote otherwise we the taxpayers will ending up spending more money to review election results and eliminate voter fraud. Mar-23-2011
Against I am astounded that this bill could even make it out of committee. What a disgrace! Mar-23-2011
Against As stated yesterday in hearing, this is a dangerous bill. Pack the polls with voters. who cares if they live here or not. who cares if they are legal. Just give 'em a sack lunch and a voter guide with the candidates pre-selected and bus 'em in. Now that is democracy in action! That is removing barriers and providing direct access to service. And thank God we have no voter fraud because some study from a liberal think tank in New York told us so. Just how stupid do some of you think we are? Mar-23-2011
Against ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! What a ridiculous bill. How are they supposed to verify that the person has a right to be in this state, let alone the country. Absolutely terrible idea. Mar-23-2011

Against Same-day Voter Registration requires the voter to complete the application and provide “proof of residence” documentation. Ballots for same-day registrants are counted in that election but the actual registration is not verified until AFTER Election Day. Mar-22-2011
Against It costs too much money at almost 250k and encourages/enables voter fraud. Please vote NO on 108. Mar-22-2011
Against This bill must be killed so our elections will be fair and not rigged by last-minute registrations that cannot be verified as valid. Mar-22-2011
Against It is imparative that a bill allowing same day voter registration is merely a method to commit voter fraud. After the ACORN case of voter fraud in Nevada during the 2008 election. Mar-22-2011

Against Someone testifying at this meeting says too many people can't vote if they aren't allowed to register on the same day. That is bunk - anyone who wants to vote has ample opportunity to register in the time alotted. What a ridiculous argument. Someone else is saying there is not much voter fraud, that it simply doesn't happen. Actually, it is just hard to prove. Unless I see a neighbor checking in and know he is voting as someone else, the how would anyone really know? This bill makes it 100 times eas Mar-22-2011

Against What are you trying to do? This is disastrous! Kill the bill! Mar-22-2011
Against There is too much room for voter fraud. In addition, voters should be required to bring their sample ballot along with their photo I.D. when they vote. I am speechless that this is not a requirement here in Nevada. People could steal a sample ballot and vote under someone elses name. With so many foreclosures here in Clark County it offers an opportunity for someones mail to be stolen. If you've just lost your house you probably aren't thinking of updating with the country resistrar's office. Mar-22-2011

Against I can not for the life of me figure out what the thinking is here. Convenience? Reinforcement of abject laziness? Consideration for the complexity of people's lives? Getting as many illegals to the poles on the last day as possible? It is conjectured that Americans are already too lax and nonchalant about their voting rights and privileges and I certainly found this to be true in the Senator's race this last summer. The stories I can tell you from going door to door are amazingly sad and patheti Mar-21-2011

Against As a conservative Republican, I oppose same-day registration and voting. We currently demand proof of U.S. citizenship and residency at the time of registration and authentic government issued photo identification at the time of voting. This process is proven to work and should not be changed. AB108 is a very dangerous bill. It eliminates the deadline to register to vote for an election, and allows same-day registration and voting. Against Voting is our most sacred and important duty. Same day voting will lead to all sorts of fraud. Strict rules should be in place to assure that the person voting has a "right" to vote, and is a citzen of this state and the U.S. that is entitled to vote. Fraudulant voting by one wipes out my vote, and my voice! Mar-21-2011
Against I feel that any change to the Voters Registration Rules will enable unscrupulous people to become Nevadans for the day, say they are now Nevadans, vote and then return to their real home. By the time Election Board finds they are false, the harm is done and the elections were illegal. Now they just sign up with ACCORN with false dates, and vote, to then return to their home state. WE ARE NEVADANS - not Wyomingits or New Hampshirites! They are small, northern states, but we are large with many illegals l Mar-21-2011

Against Allowing someone to register and vote the same day does not provide enough time for the address to be checked for validity. Unfortunatiely people cheat and lie, and it takes more than one day to see if a submitted address is for real, or if it is a vacant lot or a cemetery plot. It is the RESPONSIBILITY of the INDIVIDUAL to register to vote. What this will do is flood the poles with questionable individuals who show up with some random address. Why would we saddle an already debt ridden state with attempting to register 20% percent of the population? According to the Secretary of State’s office, as of July 1, 2009 almost 78% residents who are eligible are now registered to vote up from 71% in 2005 yet at the same time voter turnout has been generally decreasing, satisf Feb-15-2011

Against This bill would make it easier for voter fraud to take place. At present there is enough fraud to give some of us doubt about our vote being counted as it should. The integrity of the ballot box is much too important to our society to cheapen it with this bill. Why would anyone promote this? It is presently easy enough to get registered to vote.
