For Criminals already carry concealed weapons, and it’s the innocent people that become victims of these thugs because they can't. Against semi-automatic weapons should be registered and persons with registration should be trained and that should be public information. It is a sahme to waste time on changing a law to benefit those who want to skirt the training requirement (i..e. Jim Gibbons and the like). We have more important issues in Nevada for our legislators to consider. CUrrent law is appropriate Apr-03-2011

For Thank you, I am a gun owner and a CCW holder.I support this bill because.1) It will save county shareffs money on paper and work keeping track of the make, model and type of guns already on CCW"s.3)Increase the sales of firearms which is increase in sales taxes, because the CCW holder will not have to meet the restrictions already in place in the current CCW law. Mar-30-2011
For This should be passed. One semi-automatic is pretty much like any other, they all work the same way. A permit holder should not have to qualify with more than one in order to be able to carry different ones. Mar-30-2011

For This bill needs to be amended to include the privacy protections included in AB143 see Section 3 lines 39 thru 45 Mar-03-2011
For This bill removes the requirement that CCW holders qualify for their permit with each and every individual semi-automatic firearm that they own, but rather will allow a CCW holder to obtain a permit to carry any semi-automatic firearm, just as they can apply to carry any revolver under the current law. The bill also seeks to protect the privacy of CCW holder’s identity in response to an unfavorable Nevada Supreme Court decision. Mar-03-2011

I believe it is in the interest of the public safety not to disclose the location of fire arms that might be subject to theft , if disclosed, and might endanger both owner and potential criminals looking for weapons. For In my opinion, one that i am sure many others share, there should be no reason to not allow us to qualify with one semi automatic weapon and carry any. It is already being done with revolvers, and revolvers can differ in size, style, action, and operation just as much as a semi automatic. There are still key elements that almost every semi automatic pistol has, and they are generally in the same location or very close to it on all semi auto weapons. For I find it somewhat redundant to put the same type of semi-auto on a ccw permit several times because the caliber changes. If it's a Glock, it'a a Glock. If it's a 1911 style, it doesn't matter who the maker is; they're all the same. If nothing else, at least limit it to types of auto's. For As a lifelong Nevadan, I think a return to responsible gun ownership would be helped along by bills like this. Keep moving back toward the Second Amendment--when no one had to register their lawfully-owned guns and every young person knew how to shoot for food and protection. People took their gun rights and responsibilities seriously. Let's get back to personal accountability with less government control. Feb-10-2011

For Please remove the ownership requirement. Then PASS IT! Even better would to remove the requirement for a permit in the first place. Feb-07-2011

For Nice step in the right direction. Very few states even require a permitee to qualify with a revolver or semiauto to carry one, much less NV's system of qualifying with each gun. This is a good idea and stop the added expense to having to pay $25 each time a person has to amend their permit because they bought a new gun that they wish to carry concealed. Feb-07-2011
For This bill is a good start. I support constitutional carry without government regulations on when or where I can protect myself. Feb-07-2011
For Common sense Feb-07-2011
For I support this BILL! Feb-07-2011
For Other states (Oregon for example) utilize the same provisions as proposed by this change to the bill and show no greater crime because of the provision. This removes overhead paperwork from our overburdened sherrif's offices, and benifits the rights of the people. Feb-07-2011

For Great Bill. PLEASE REMOVE the ownership part. Feb-07-2011
For I would thank the legislature to recognize that a semi auto firearm should be subject to the same restrictions as a revolver on a person's CCW card. Thank you. Feb-07-2011
For It certainly makes sense. Feb-07-2011

For Currently, the requirement to qualify with each individual semi-auto weapon is an unnecessary burden placed on the permit holder. Once someone is familiar with the operation of one, they are likely able to perform to the same standard with any other. Please consider amending this bill to address how it will affect current permit holders. Feb-07-2011
For I follow how our elected officials vote. AND I VOTE IN GENERAL ELECTIONS! Feb-07-2011
For I support the bill however request removal of ownership requirement. My wife has a CCW but all of our handguns are in my name, which would make it illegal for her to carry it. Please revise that wording. Feb-07-2011
For I urge everyone to strongly support this bill. Although, I would like to see changes made to the wording that requires you to own the gun that you are carrying. It would not be uncommon for a family member of mine to carry one of my handguns with their CCW, such as my wife or father, and this wording would that that illegal. Feb-07-2011

For drop the part about needing to "own" the weapon. Feb-06-2011
For I urge the Legislature to pass this. The only thing I would like to see is the removal of the ownership language. It opens too much latitude for unnecessary regulation based on ownership. Otherwise, this revision is long overdue. Feb-06-2011
For I support this bill, and urge its passing, but I would like to see the term "owned" removed from its language. Feb-06-2011

For This would simplify the permit process and make things much easier for the sheriffs office. The present law is confusing and causes problems for honest gun owners. Please pass this post haste! Feb-06-2011

For The extra work involved to get different types of autos approved on the same CCW is stupid. We need this passed. Please remove any requirement of ownership. This was never required before and is a step backwards. Feb-06-2011

For I would be very happy to see this bill passed. Current requirements are time consuming and unnecessary. Thank you for considering my opinion. Feb-06-2011
For Excellent, but please amend language to permit a person to carry a firearm other than one they own. This would allow a husband, wife etc to carry each others pistols. This is allowed in current CCW language. Feb-06-2011

For This is a MUST PASS bill! Many thanks to Senator Settelmeyer. It does, however, need an amendment to remove the requirement to actually OWN the firearm(s) one will carry. Currrent law does not require you to actually OWN firearms - and this bill should not either! Amend and DO PASS! Feb-06-2011
For This is a common sense bill that would remove a large paperwork burden for local police agencies. Get real people, this is Nevada, not California Feb-06-2011
