For Other states have recently passed simular measures, most recently Arizona--to no ill effects. Hindering one's constitutional right to carry only serves to hinder those that feel they need to protect themselves. To quote an old saying "Locks only keep honest people honest"--anti constitutional carry laws (aka. current ccw law) have no bearing on those that are out to break the law or harm others. Apr-29-2011
For Like arizona, alaska and Vermont this law will work well, and it will avoid Costco situations of open carry which we have scaring the uneducated of the open carry laws Apr-20-2011

For Please get this bill out of committee and on to the floor for a vote. Everyone knows that these laws are not written for the criminal element, as they will just ignore them. It is our God-given right to bear arms, and the Constitution confirms it. While passing this bill to eliminate the need for concealed carry permits, also get rid of registration. Thank you! For I'm a target shooter, something I took up in college. Currently, to be in compliance with the law, I have to strap on my firearms to head off to the gun range (as I want to be compliant with the law). It seems to me that if I could just keep them cased and in my tote bag, neighbors, passing deputies, etc. would not have to be unduly alarmed. Apr-05-2011

Against Constitutional Carry is not appropriate for Nevada & especially Clark County where we have MILLIONS of visitors from all over the world. I felt that Arizona was foolish when they went this direction in 2010. It's only been 9 months so one could hardly state a case that there have been no negative issues. Maybe so far.....but. Alaska, Vermont, and now Wyoming are so sparsley populated that it hardly makes no difference and the same goes for Montana once you're outside the boundaries of the 6 largest citie Mar-29-2011

Therefore, I support SB-176 because it helps to bring Nevada back in conformance with the Constitution of the United States, and I ask that you, as Nevada State Senators, please do the same. For I favor passage of SB 176 for the following reasons: In this country we believe we have the right to life. Therefore, it follows that we have the right to defend our life against those who might attempt to take it from us. Additionally, the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states that “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” In my opinion, a law which requires American citizens to obtain a permit before they may “bear” (carry) a gun in the place where it Mar-10-2011

Like the gun I have legaly in my safe that was registered WRONG by METRO, and METRO refuses to re- register, leaving me in fear of even owning the gun, Yet selling it would be a crime as well. this is not the way law abiding citizens should be treated. For SB176, addressing "constitutional carry" and Clark County's "blue card" registration proces,is important and should not be left to die in committee. The existing concealed carry and registration process (Clark County) is a burden to law abiding citizens. Existing laws penalize those who use guns in the commission of crimes; criminals carry concealed guns in defiance of existing state law. The existing concealed carry & gun registration permit process discourages law abiding citizens from participat Feb-27-2011

For I support this bill 110%. The restrictions it seeks to repeal are onerous assaults on the freedom of Nevadans. That are archaic and it's time for them to go. Feb-22-2011
For Nevada State Constitution, Article One, Section 11 reads "Every citizen has the right to keep and BEAR arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and other lawful purposes." Note that I emphasized the word BEAR because a right is meaningless if it cannot be exercised. Also, Clark County's registration system is full of innaccurate information because there is no mechanism to remove firearms no longer owned by Clark County residents who transfer them to Non-Clark residents or Feb-22-2011
For The Bill of Rights and the Constitution gives me the right to protect myself and my family from harm. The 2nd amendment gives us all the right to KEEP AND BARE firearms. For Law abiding citizens should not need to be put on a list for owning and carrying a firearm. Vermont, Alaska, and Arizona have proven that not needing a permit to carry concealed does not equate to blood baths or wild west shootouts. Please, vote this bill in. For Open carry is already legal. Concealed guns are no more dangerous. We should follow the example of Alaska, Vermont and Arizona and provide constitutional carry. Permits should be optional and designed for maximum reciprocity purposes only. Feb-21-2011
For I fully support this bill and hope you will as well. The US Constitution and the NV Constitution both make it clear that right to bear arms for defense should not be restricted. I also support this bill finally cleaning up Clark County's immunity to certain aspects of the state's preemption law. Feb-21-2011

For It's time to return to constitutional carry. The permit process is an unfair process that enriches CCW instructors and sheriffs. Feb-20-2011
For No Comment Feb-20-2011
For Constitutional carry is exactly the direction this state needs to go. Vermont and Alaska have successfully had a no permit requirement for years with no harmful effects. However, please allow the state to continue issuing permits for those wishing to use reciprocity laws to allow carrying of handguns in other states friendly to Nevada permits. Feb-19-2011
For Vote YES! Open carry of firearms is completely lawful in Nevada. Why should it be a felony if your shirttail covers your handgun?? Criminals don't apply for CCW permits. We already have plenty of laws to deal with criminal use/carry of firearms! VT, AK, AZ, TX, MT have similar laws - with NO problems! Are Nevadans somehow "less worthy"? Obviously NOT! This bill is RIGHT for Nevada! DO Pass! Feb-19-2011
Against Concealed permits should be universally honored in all 50 states. Just ensure that the training/screening of applicants is conistent. similar to a drivers liscense. Registration of a weapon should not be a consideration. ie. A Glock is a Glock reguardless of the caliber. Feb-19-2011
For I feel that this is the correct action to take. I am watching closely the outcome of the votes. Feb-18-2011
