Against Mixing concealed weapons and late-adolescent males consuming large amounts of alcohol is a terrible idea. Passing this law will hurt the state's ability to recruit out of state students and quality faculty, and is likely to end in worse campus shooting incidences, higher campus suicide rates, arguments at parties turning into shootouts, etc. The study made after the Virginia Tech shooting concluded that allowing guns on campus was a really bad idea. "VI-5 The Virginia General Assembly should adopt legislation in the 2008 session clearly establishing the right of every institution of higher education in the Commonwealth to regulate the possession of firearms on campus if it so desires. The panel recommends that guns be banned on campus grounds and in buildings unless mandated by law." See http://www.governor.virginia.gov/tempcontent/techPanelReport-docs/VT_Addendum_12-2-2009.pdf, page 76. Jun-01-2011

For Pass this bill, it is our constitutional right!!!! This is America! You work for us, not for yourself and your feelings... May-31-2011
Against Statistics show that people with CCWs are just as likely to commit violent crimes as people without them. The students and teachers that will ultimately feel the burden of this law, and are the best experts on what is in the interest of students, are violently opposed to this law. Every expert agrees that guns in colleges makes them less safe. There are certain places in our society were free thought and open discussion are required and encouraged: schools, courts, government building. We don't and shouldn't allow guns in any of these facilities unless we are going to allow them in ALL of these facilities. May-30-2011

For Please get this bill out of committee and get it to the Governer. Did you not understand the testimony of Amanda Collins? Pass this bill. May-24-2011
For People need to be able to protect themselves no matter where they are and Legislators need to know they need to do what's best for ALL members of society not just a certain few that are against our freedoms. May-22-2011

For Section 11 of the Nevada Constitution states, "Every citizen has the right to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes." This bill should be passed on those grounds alone. Thank you Senator Don Gustavson for serving your constituents. Apr-15-2011
For They need the protection. A teacher or student could protect those around them before any police could even be called. Apr-15-2011

For I also would like to urge Assemblymen William Horne to schedule this bill for a full hearing. Also, please discontinue the permit process, as honest citizens are not required under our Constitution to report to the government. And we all know that criminals are criminals because...they don't pay any attention to the law anyway! Apr-10-2011

Against Constitutional Carry is not appropriate for Nevada & especially Clark County where we have MILLIONS of visitors from all over the world. I felt that Arizona was foolish when they went this direction in 2010. It's only been 9 months so one could hardly state a case that there have been no negative issues. Maybe so far.....but. Alaska, Vermont, and now Wyoming are so sparsley populated that it hardly makes no difference and the same goes for Montana once you're outside the boundaries of the 6 largest citie Mar-29-2011

For "...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." I believe this language implies that no licensing for any sort of carrying should be imposed. Therefore, I support AB-231 because it helps to bring Nevada back in conformance with the Constitution of the United States, and I ask that you, as Nevada State Assembly Members, please do the same. Thank you for all that you do on behalf of the people of Nevada. Mar-15-2011

For This would be true Second Amendment carry finally for Nevada. Many states have this and their streets are not rampant with bloodshed. Insta check weeds out the criminals. More law abiding citizens with guns has been proven to reduce crime, especially concealed carry! Make Nevadans first class citizens by passing this bill. Mar-11-2011
For When we purchase a gun we are checked and once we get checked there is no need to have to pay another tax to carry it. Stop this usurpation of the 2nd amendment under the guise of taxation and protection. (Of whom, the criminal will not need a permit or have to pay taxes or get a permit, why should we, who have been cleared to purchase, be guilty) Mar-11-2011

For Me and my family wholeheartedly supports Constitutional Carry for Nevada! Our concealed carry permit is the 2nd Amendment to the Constitutional of the United States! Passing this bill is also in line with the Nevada Constitution. And finally, pardon me for mentioning, but last time I checked, the state doesn't have extra money laying around to enforce un-Constitutional legislation. I mean, you're going to fire teachers, but use valuable state resources permitting, fining, and arresting gun owners, som Mar-10-2011

For Any bill that brings us closer to the original intent of the Constitution as written by the founding fathers is a good bill. Restore full Second Amendment rights to all citizens. It has already been shown that law abiding citizens follow the law and lawless citizens don't bother to get concealed firearms permits at all, so restore rights to the law-abiding to protect themselves and their families. For This is a great bill. We already have open carry without a permit, we should be able to carry concealed too! We should also be allowed to carry concealed knives and daggers though and "any dangerous weapon" is too vague, as that would cover basically any object. Mar-06-2011
