| Against | I'm against taxing services, and feel it's a serious regressive tax on the poor. A less expensive personal state income tax could probably be implemented, even though I know this suggestion will fall on deaf ears. | May-04-2013 |

| Against | This will make it much harder for businesses to stay afloat in Nevada and for people to be able to pay for healthcare and maintenance. It's taking more money from people that already need help. Please vote no. These are unplanned expenses for most people and this will simply raise those costs for people who are struggling. | Apr-18-2013 |

| Against | NO NEW TAXES...PERIOD!!!!!!!! | Apr-18-2013 |
| Against | I am strongly opposed to taxing services. If we are trying to strengthen our economy, taxing the services of middle-class working Nevadans and the average consumer who uses these services is not the answer. Our economy does not grow by more taxes, but by growing business and smart spending. My daughter-in-law is a hair stylist and this would result in an economic hardship for her, my son and their new baby. | Apr-17-2013 |
| Against | NO NEW TAXES! This is the last thing that we need! | Apr-17-2013 |
| Against | This tax is supposed to be “revenue neutral” and be offset by lowering the sales tax on goods. Then why bother to implement this in the first place. You are not going to receive anymore revenue if it's "neutral". Like any tax, it will not remain "revenue neutral" and is really a tax increase in disguise. | Apr-17-2013 |

| Against | I know the State is short on money, BUT so am I! As a retired person I can't ask anyone for a raise. Obama care is drowing us in medical cost. Goverment is about to run out of other peoples money. | Apr-17-2013 |
| Against | Hell No,I am not your Demoocracy ! Time for the Above the law Union Entitlement Spending to End ! I did not Vote for Obama Time to Act Acordingly Grow the Economy. Stabalize your Budget and Cut your Above the law Spending ! NV is not Gang Land Chicago ! | Apr-17-2013 |
| Against | So, the State needs to “realign” or “stabilize” the tax base? This is evidently because people have decreased buying taxable goods, so the State’s sales tax revenue has shrunk. If we, the people, are cutting back on unnecessary goods, which happens to be the taxable stuff (thank heaven there is no tax on food …yet), it should be obvious that we, the people, can no longer afford the non-necessities that we used to. Unfortunately, attendant to that is a loss of jobs for those providing those unnecessary goods. Sad, but we have no choice. We, the people, HAVE to realigned our spendable base. So, the State is looking at taxing services. Why wouldn’t the State draw the logical conclusion that if we, the people, have reduced unnecessary spending on goods, that we most certainly have already reduced unnecessary spending on services? Unfortunately, attendant to that is a loss of jobs for those providing those unnecessary services. Sad, but we, the people, have no choice. We HAVE to realigned our spendable base. The State claims that any tax on services will be mitigated by a decrease in the sales tax. I, and all the “we the sheeple” I know, consider that statement disingenuous … to put it as nicely as possible. Why doesn’t the State do what we, the people, have already done and realign its spendable base? No doubt, it is because the State has done a study which concludes that sheep can be sheared multiple times in season, and if you restrict their access to good and services, they will multiply at a greater rate. I hope that I can count on you to vote NO on SCR1. Sincerely, | Apr-17-2013 |

| Against | Vote NO on all new taxes. Our fragile economy cannot handle any more taxes. Also this tax targets seniors and widows, since they have to rely on others to provide services for things they can no longer do for themselves. | Apr-17-2013 |
| Against | Apr-16-2013 | |
| Against | learn to spend your money wiser do not try to raise more via taxing. This tax would cause the low income to spend more that they can not afford now. Carol & Tony Hart 775-741-1144 | Apr-16-2013 |
| Against | Total and complete madness to expect NV citizens to pay a tax on services. Did you ever read Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged? The government (rulers) continued to take and take from the earners and producers until they rebelled and left for a better world. Florida is looking better and better, maybe Idaho. | Apr-16-2013 |
| Against | We do not need a study for a tax that we do not need. No more taxes. Citizens of Nevada are watching this and will vote accordingly. | Apr-16-2013 |
| Against | When are you going to stop increasing taxes?????? We citizens simply cannot afford more taxes. We are taxed more than enough. The state does not have a revenue problem - it has a spending problem. The state is not our sugar daddy and we can take care of ourselves if you would only stay out of our wallets. You are going to tax us out of existance. You can rob Peter to pay Paul until Peter is out of money and both will starve. | Apr-16-2013 |

| Against | As a dentist, I can tell you that there are thousands of people who can't afford dental care right now. They either don't have a job, or don't have dental insurance or just make enough money to get by paycheck to paycheck. Increasing the cost of healthcare with a tax is wrong-headed and will hurt the poor and middle class the most. PPO reimbursements have not kept up with inflation as it is, so I'll have to add a surcharge to my fee and collect it up front, just in case the patient doesn't pay their bill for their portion after insurance, if they have any. Don't forget that Obamacare contains a new 2.3% tax on "medical devices" which hasn't been completely defined as yet. There is a move to repeal this tax, but no one know for sure if it will actually be repealed. There are legitimate increases in medical and dental fees to cover new technology and equipment, but adding a "services tax" is totally non-productive. I urge you to oppose this bill. | Apr-16-2013 |
| Against | Nevada does not need any new taxes at this point in the economy. This is just an attempt to rationalize something that nobody wants and will harm growth and recovery. no new taxes. no need to study either. | Apr-16-2013 |

| For | If I understand this correctly, YOU legislators want to impose a sales tax on services. You legislators want to give yourselves a raise and be paid year round? How unfair is this. Your'e public servants and in my opinion should work the legislature for FREE. You still get your per diem. Stop the greed NOW. Americans and NV business havent recovered yet so hold off on any new taxes please. | Apr-01-2013 |

| Against | This bill is sickening. It is clear that NO amount of taxation will ever be sufficient for those who wish to buy votes via giving away other peoples money to "Their" constituency! STOP THE OVERSPENDING, stop funding inappropriate programs. We do not have a revenue problem, we have a SPENDING problem. Stop looking for new was to discourage business in our state. | Mar-22-2013 |
| Against | Enough taxes, enough studies on how to tax us more | Mar-19-2013 |

| Against | A “study” sounds so innocent, but offsetting sales taxes by taxing services is incentive to send professional business outside of Nevada, and an added collection and oversight burden to the "white collar" sector. An attempt to capture taxes on haircuts & plumbing has the potential to push accountant's, estate-planner's, architect's, and stock broker's services out of the state if "revenue neutral" means adding 7%+ sales tax to professional fees. Not even California does this. Services are indirectly taxed to the extent that their cost is incorporated into the final price of tangible goods. | Feb-22-2013 |
| Against | This country was built and thrived for over 200 years with little to no taxation. Now, we are being destroyed by taxation on every front. STOP, NO STUDY, NO TAXES | Feb-19-2013 |
| Against | NO MORE TAXEs; not even a study on them | Feb-18-2013 |
| Against | Major services such as legal, medical and construction, to name a few, can be very expensive and should not be made more so by the imposition of yet another tax. | Feb-16-2013 |

| Against | New taxes are not the answer. It will never be enough, never has been-----only we the people are expected to live within our means--------government must learn to share our pain not increase it. We the people have to live in the Realm called Reality and we are expecting our governments to acknowledge that things cannot go on as they used to. We are currently in the 4th year of an economic meltdown. True, there are many who haven't been hurt at all and think they never will but this is not a temporary chill---------it is a cumulative event that has already decimated the lower classes. | Feb-13-2013 |
| Against | It is time to balance the budget and stop considering new taxes. The state never tries to cut programs they seem to live inperpetuity, and the state only looks to fund new goodies for the masses by instituting new taxes. Please consider living within your means this year. Regards | Feb-13-2013 |
| Against | It is very unfair for gov. to raise taxes at will.( I can remember 3% sales tax in Nevada. Pension has raised twice and decreased twice by Obama care. | Feb-13-2013 |

| Against | NO MORE TAXATION!!!! We do not need to support the multitude of programs you (the legislature) has managed to burden the taxpaying public with, and most of them are only means of making people more and more dependent upon government. Enough is enough. We never get our "bang" for our bucks. You are well intentioned, but unfortunately misdirected. | Feb-13-2013 |

| Against | This is a no brainer to shoot down -- no study needed -- taxes like this only further erode small businesses' ability to be solvent. Rather, back off on the education budget until "students" and "teachers" PROVE they are worth any more money than presently given by the taxpayers. Besides, those who do not have children in the system, or never have, are paying regardless of the outcomes or future supposed "benefits" Put up and produce or get out and make room for others who can get results! | Feb-12-2013 |
| Against | NO MORE TAXEs! We are broke so you want to spend money on a study. Give me a break. Do you have any idea how repugnant this is to thousands of seniors who must make cuts in their budgets when prices go up because we have no way to coerce funds from others? We send you up there to manage, not break the budget. | Feb-12-2013 |
| Against | The 2-14-13 hearing for this bill has been cancelled. Good, keep it cancelled. NO NEW TAXES! | Feb-12-2013 |

| Against | Feb-10-2013 | |
| Against | Why spend the money on a study that we already know the answer to? Enough is Enough and we the people can NOT afford more taxes. When will you all get that? This is NUTS. | Feb-10-2013 |
| Against | We don't need or want more taxes, so we don't need to waste the money on a study to find more ways to tax. NO MORE TAXES! We need LESS GOVERNMENT! | Feb-10-2013 |

| Against | The draft does not define "services." Does it mean monies paid to doctors, lawyers, brokers, accountants, bookkeepers, real estate agents, title companies, barbers, car mechanics, builders, contractors, and other repairmen, medical / legal / other record keeping professionals, to employees as salary and benefits, to insurance companies as premiums, to banks as account or overdraft fees, etc.? The compliance and enforcement mechanism would be a horrendous duplication of the IRS code. | Feb-03-2013 |
| Against | I think the bill shouldn't be even considered at this junction in time since the economy is still in difficult shape. | Jan-22-2013 |
