| For | Currently the Second Judicial District Court wants to charge over $150.00 for a 69 page document on a CD. They claim they get to charge administrative fees, per page fees and fees for the CD the document will be stored on. | Apr-02-2013 |
| Against | Nothing but the greed of Lucy Flores immigration division. | Mar-25-2013 |

| Against | This proposed legislation would be another weapon in government’s arsenal for denying Justice to the poor. It demonstrates the intrinsic greed of Lucy Flores in proposing this legislation. I, as well as others will closely follow those supporting this legislation. | Mar-14-2013 |
| For | In favor of Veterans Memorial | Mar-13-2013 |
| Against | There is no reason for this, as far as I can tell it is a way to prevent prison inmates from getting assistance in preparing writs. | Mar-12-2013 |
| For | I think that this bill would greatly benefit people who are constantly being scammed. Many people pose to be immigration specialists when in reality they are not, this doesn't just mean that they will be knocked off a couple dollars, they could ultimately be deported for the error and greed of someone else! A doctor has to have certification before he does a surgery, why not someone who has to prepare documents that could affect the future of a family? | Mar-08-2013 |
| Against | This Bill proposed by Lucy Flores Could easily be considered "SELF SERVING" this Assemblywoman is not only an Attorney,(NVBAR #12210) is employed in her District, serving the Hispanic community that she serves as an Assemblywoman.... But get this! Her Employer has a... You guessed it IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT... And Lucy Flores Just happens to be Bi-Lingual... I am All for bills That help the Citizens but this one looks suspiciously like it would help the Legislator who brought it up! I would like an explanation of how this works for the people she swore to serve! | Feb-24-2013 |
| Against | Just another not so carefully hidden tax. We already have excessive licenses and fees aimed at businesses in this state. You folks should be looking at eliminating laws, not making more, and reducing costs, not increasing taxes. | Feb-18-2013 |

| Against | One of the worst bills I've seen. Will make it very difficult for citizens to purchase something as simple as a new corporation without jumping through multiple hoops, signing contracts, waiting for 3 days, etc. It will no longer be easy to file a new business entity on an expedited basis. Nevada will lose out. Proponents are trying to scare the public with old stories that have been repeated over time. There is no pressing need for this. | Feb-18-2013 |
| Against | This bill is desperately trying to find a distinction without a difference. For all practical purposes a "document preparation service" sounds like what a lawyer does, up to and including providing legal advice but short of actually trying a case in court. Everything else more specifically related to document preparation that this bill so painstakingly defines in the minutest detail sounds like what a "paralegal" (a term not used in this bill) or even a legal secretary normally does to assist a lawyer. Therefore, it looks like the purpose of this bill is either (1) to drive private immigration assistance services out of the market, or, failing that, (2) to raise revenue for the office of the SoS, give his staff more to do and thereby increase the need for more staff, or (3) both. If the purpose of this bill were to define a new (but already existing) business or profession, then it would be presented as a modification of Title 1, Chapter 7 (attorneys) or as a new chapter in Title 54 (professions), and not be so plainly focused on immigration matters. But by presenting this bill as an addition to Title 19 (government and public affairs), the real intent is all too clear. I wonder is anyone has done a "business impact" study to examine the predictable effects of this bill. | Feb-18-2013 |

| Against | This bill is a sham and will make justice harder to obtain in corrupt Nevada where the State received a D- grade from Public Integrity studies. Paralegals will suffer and lawyers will suffer and their clients will suffer. Even proper (people doing their own legal work) will suffer and we do not need more suffering in Nevada. | Feb-14-2013 |
| Against | The bill as written will disenfrachise anyone who has been convicted of a felony, even though they have served their time and are now released. That language needs to be removed. Additionally, the bill will also prevent an indigent pro se litigant from being able to access justice unless more attorneys in NV do pro bono work. Access to justice is a fundamental right. | Feb-13-2013 |
| Against | Not necessary. Those who help the indigent of society will be forced out of business by this law. It is expensive and time consuming for document preparers to comply with and nets no improvement to society. It's another bureaucratic hurdle standing between provision of legal document preparation assistance, and our most needy citizens. Not everyone can afford - or needs- a lawyer. | Feb-11-2013 |
| Against | This will put people out of business. This will be detrimental to people who can not afford to pay for services or attorney's. You are putting a hardship on some people who have trouble putting to nickels together let alone having to monies they simply cannot afford to do. The only persons benefitting from this bill is the attoney's, courts and the Secretary of State. The little people who vote are the ones who are going to be hurt by this law. THIS IS A VERY BAD LAW. | Feb-10-2013 |

| Against | Nevada needs more people to help the inmates inside these prisons immediatley, organizations like Nevada Cure and others. There truely are innocent people in prison and others who just plain meed help. The world needs organizations like Nevada Cure to help those who cannot help themselves. Put yourself in their shoes.....what if it were you in prison, accused and convicted unjustly, it happens more than the public knows. Teresa. | Feb-09-2013 |
| Against | This should not be taken away | Feb-09-2013 |
| Against | Document Preparation servers are needed for those who cannot afford professionals who do the same work representing inmates and their families. As a citizen of the Untied States anyone should be able to present arguments and documents when it comes to comments or communation that any Representitive is tryng to get passed. We place these people in positions of power and influence, therefore we should be able to present our opinions on any legislation they are presenting. | Feb-09-2013 |
| Against | Who will help the poor? The lawyers in Nevada? Only if you have lots of money!! Please consider all the people in the community that simply cannot afford to pay the outrages prices they charge!!! | Feb-09-2013 |
| Against | Please do not take this away the people and prisons need this | Feb-09-2013 |
| Against | I have a brother who is incarcerated at Lovelock Correctional Facility and am on a limited income. If this bill is passed then I will no longer be able to help him with his case. At this time he has medical needs that are not being met and he has been denied a class that is required so that he can make his parole. I need to be able to make sure that he and others in the same circumstances are allowed to have someone do the paperwork that is required without a cost to the prisoners and their families. | Feb-09-2013 |
| Against | This bill targets poor people who most need the services this bill aims to curtail. Nevada has far too few pro bono and low cost attorney services, and if this bill passes more Nevadans will suffer! What is the point of this except as another attack on low income people? | Feb-09-2013 |
| For | Feb-05-2013 | |
| Against | requiring is a powerful word | Feb-01-2013 |
