| Against | Once again, the anti-hunting and animal rights organizations are trying to steal the rights of sportsmen and women in Nevada. This bill would put another anti-hunter on the board of wildlife. Sportsmen and women pay for the management of wildlife in our State and should have the most members on the broad. This would also steal any chance that rural Counties would have any chance to have a sportsman on the board. Put a stop to these groups that want to put a stop to our hunting heritage in Nevada and oppose this bill. | Apr-06-2013 |

| For | The Nevada Department of Wildlife needs to represent ALL Nevadans. I have attended many meetings at NDOW, and it was crystal clear that there was zero support for the majority of us at those meetings. I was in disbelief, wondering how a board that was appointed was so one sided? Surely, this is not how a democratic system works? Well, apparently that is the way it has worked all this time, but I think that that needs to change. Only 2% of the state has a hunting license, and the other 98% may chose to enjoy their wildlife differently. Where is their voice? Where is my voice? The majority of this state would like to take picture, not a rack or a trophy of any kind. There should be a broader assortment of board members, because as it is now, it is like a small hunting club, and the decisions that involve our wildlife, is made my those people. It is time for fair representation in the state of Nevada. | Apr-03-2013 |

| For | 4-3-2013 We must leave behind the old mentality of the 20th century and progress into the 21st century by passing SB 184. Thank you, Betty Kelly, M.D. (retired pediatrician) | Apr-03-2013 |

| For | Ecologists with degrees know more about wildlife management than hunters who simply want to kill them. Give the wildlife the respect it deserves and appoint a more qualified person to the commission. | Apr-02-2013 |

| For | Learn from our mistakes in NM. We are destroying our wildlife, bears and big cats. Please don't make the same mistakes. Wildlife is valuable and once gone, you can't get it back it again. Thank you!!!! | Apr-02-2013 |

| For | This is a no brainer. Well trained scientists trump any person who is appointed simply by virtue of being a member of a user group. Science and the values of the broader public should be guiding policy setting, not the current system of user group domination. | Apr-01-2013 |
| For | The changes proposed in SB184 are long overdue and will improve the balance and educational strength of the commission. | Apr-01-2013 |

| For | There are many of us who don't agree with the NV Bear hunt at all. We should have a voice in what happens in the wild life in our state. Bears are beautiful creatures and it is horrific to have the chased by dogs and then shot out of trees! Why would any normal human being think this is truly a sport? | Apr-01-2013 |

| For | We need to protect all of our wildlife in Nevada, especially our bears. This was their land first and then we moved in. They should not be pushed out, especially by killing just because people refuse to follow our bear laws. This is bear country, get used to it! People need to slow down when traveling our roads too. | Apr-01-2013 |

| For | I'm totally against the hunting/stalking and killing our Nevada bears for sport or for any other reason. The majority of this Board are hunters. This needs to change. The public needs a say in this matter by letting the voters decide if this is appropriate. To allow the use of dogs to hunt these animals down so as to make killing our wildlife "easy" is not sportsmanship in any sense. To kill these bears for the sake of trophy is outrageous. Please pass this bill, and leave the bears alone! | Apr-01-2013 |

| For | SB184 is a necessary step in the right direction. | Mar-31-2013 |
| Against | I strongly oppose this bill. The sportsman pays for most of the wildlife management in this state through taxes on sporting equipment, ammunition, hunting license. A majority of the work to improve our wildlife environment is through voluntary work done by sportsman's conservation groups. Stop acting like Californian politicians and trying to destroying our Nevadan heritage. | Mar-19-2013 |

| For | When an ideology is entrenched, it is essentially invisible. The ideology of the existing Wildlife Commission, unquestioningly accepted and promoted by its members, and by its hunting and trapping constituency, is to "manage" wildlife through massive killing programs, turning a deaf ear to suggestions about non-lethal co-existence with our wildlife. The vast majority of the public never get to see many of our native animals because they are trapped in astonishing numbers and slain in "management" programs utilizing Dept. of Ag Wildlife "Services" whose mission is to kill with aircraft, poison, traps -- all manner of indiscriminate lethal methods. This bill is an effort toward encouraging a more moderate view in the Commission. Sadly, a "conservationist" is not necessarily a humane activist, but that is the hope expressed by this bill. | Mar-10-2013 |

| For | Practical experience in wildlife management only goes so far. We need more commission members who can make educated decisions regarding wildlife you do not hunt. NDoW needs to manage them as well. If any invasive mussels are found in Lake Tahoe or the sage grouse is listed, it will hurt Nevada's economy. | Mar-08-2013 |
| For | The Commission needs more diversity. With the current system, game animals are the main focus. Wildlife diversity and invasive species are very rarely even discussed. | Mar-08-2013 |

| Against | Just the antis trying to get in to governing wildlife to keep hunter out. | Mar-04-2013 |
| Against | With the selection process we have now people with degrees are not prohibited. I feel with the CAB process it is the best that the animals can ask for. We nned to remember that this all boils down to what is best for the animals, not the people. Having over 60 years dealing with the NDOW employees, Commissioners & CABs I know we have a system that is the envy of many states, so leave it alone!!! Remember "you cannot Legislate Wildlife." | Mar-04-2013 |
| Against | Nothing beats practical experience. | Feb-28-2013 |
| Against | Any bill requiring certain members to possess a specific educational requirement creates a far too restrictive pool from which to appoint qualified members to the board. The assumption by making such a requirement is those who possess such a degree are usually non-consumptive users of wildlife and would therefore vote primarily against the consumptive use of wildlife. This is another back-handed attempt to circumvent the very representative system already in place in an effort to force an anti-hunter/trapper onto the wildlife commission. | Feb-28-2013 |
