MARGE GRIFFIN

Manager, Assembly Adminstrative services

Marge was born, raised, and schooled in the Wine Country of Northern California.  She was a stay at home mom for ten years and was employed in a family business for seventeen additional years.  She enjoys being the mother of three adult children and a grandmother of nine grandchildren.

In 1993, having married a Carson City native, Marge moved to the state capitol.  She began working at permanent and temporary positions, which provided wonderful opportunities to become acquainted with the community.  In 1994, she began a long association with the Carson City Elections Department.  She worked her first election that year and was an election worker for every election until 2008.  In 1995, Marge began working at the Carson City District Attorney’s office, first assigned to the Child Support Division and later to the Criminal Division.

Also in 1995, she accepted her first position with the Nevada State Legislature.  In her first session she worked in the Telephone Message Center which gave her a comprehensive knowledge of the legislative process.  In 1997, she worked as a Personal Secretary to an assembly member.  From 1999 through the 2007 session, Marge was a Personal Secretary and Committee Manager, first for Assemblywoman Chris Giunchigliani, and then for Assemblywoman Kathy McClain.

In 2008, Marge assumed the position of Administrative Services Manager and continues in that role today.

Administrative Services

The Manager of Administrative Services assists the Chief Clerk in the recruitment of qualified staff for session employment. The Manager of Administrative Services manages and directs Assembly personal attaches in their daily activities in accordance with all appropriate laws, regulations, and Assembly policies and procedures. In addition, the Manager of Administrative Services receives and compiles bi-weekly timesheets and the requisite leave documents, when necessary. Once the time sheets are compiled, the Manager of Administrative Services verifies them and signs them. The Manager is also responsible for the safety of Assembly support staff.
