History FAQs
I'm having
trouble opening/printing/searching one of the PDF legislative histories. What
can I do?
-
Find out if Adobe Reader has been
loaded on your computer. If not, you can download the latest version
for free from Adobe's
website. If you already have the Reader, make sure you have an
up-to-date version.
-
These histories are provided in PDF
format. All histories for bills prior to the 2003 session are saved as graphics
and not as text; therefore, the "Find" feature in Adobe Acrobat (the
binoculars button) will not work with them. Beginning with 2003, all parts
of the histories except the exhibits are searchable using the "Find" feature
in Adobe Acrobat.
-
Some of the PDF files are quite large,
and can take some time to open. Depending on your Internet connection,
it may be quicker to save the file to your computer and then open and print
from there. If you are using Internet Explorer, right-click on the
URL. On the menu that pops up, click on "Save Target As..."
Choose where you want to save the file and click on "Save."
-
Contact the Research Library for
technical assistance or to order a printed copy of the history.
Photocopy charges will apply.
