Legislature Working Hard to The Assembly Sergeant at Arms staff gathers amendments to pass out to the Legislators. The Legislature will be working through the weekend in order to finish all business and adjourn Sine Die on Monday, June 4th. |
Sine Die The 74th Session of the Nevada Legislature adjourned Sine Die at 2:40 AM on Tuesday, June 5, 2007. Adjournment sine die literally means "adjournment without a day"; it marks the end of the legislative session, since it does not set a time for reconvening. |

Mouryne Landing Dini Honored on Mouryne Landing Dini was honored by being added to the Assembly Wall of Distinction by Speaker of the Assembly Barbara Buckley. Mrs. Dini served
as Chief Clerk of the Nevada Assembly for an all-time Nevada
record of 23 years, from 1973 through 1995. Among her many accomplishments was being a member of the Revision Commission for the Mason’s Manual of Legislative Procedure and being the President of the American Society of Legislative Clerks and Secretaries. |
Legislature Works on Saturday to Finish Business Legislators and staff worked on Saturday closing budgets as the end of the 74th Legislative Session nears. Session will end on or before Monday, June 4, 2007. |

Legislature Putting In Long Hours Legislators worked late on Friday night to meet the deadline for second House passage of bills. The Legislature has now met all six of the major deadlines contained in the rules (two for introduction of measures and four for passage of measures). |
Former Governor Guinn's The official portrait of former Governor Kenny C. Guinn, the 27th Governor of Nevada, was unveiled Tuesday at the Capitol where it will be displayed along side all previous Nevada Governor's portraits. It took the artist, Michele Rushworth, six weeks to paint the entire portrait. |

The staff has by statute the authority to take disruptive persons into temporary custody. Other duties include escorting dignitaries and making formal announcements. |

2007 Commemorative Gold Legislative Medallion John Pappageorge was the lucky winner of the gold medallion minted for a charity fund-raising raffle to benefit the Carson City Senior Center. The raffle raised a total of $1170. A silent auction was also held for a second gold medallion of which the successful bidder, Marsha Hayes, named Easter Seals as the charity to receive her $2000 bid. |
Seeliger Singers On March 28, 2007, the Seeliger Singers from Seeliger Elementary School in Carson City performed for the Assembly as part of "Kick Butts Day in Nevada" which encourages youth to abstain from the use of tobacco. |
