Technical Advisory Committee Members

In accordance with Section 2 of SB 556, the following four individuals were recommended by the Board of Regents of the University and Community College System of Nevada, and appointed by the Chairman with the concurrence of the members:

· E. Steven Smith, DDS, Interim Dean UNLV, School of Dentistry

· Trudy Larson, M.D., Professor and Associate Dean for Primary Care, Research, Education and Services UNR School of Medicine

· Carolyn Ford, M.P.H., Assistant Dean, Office of Rural Health UNR School of Medicine

· Gerald Acherman, M.P.H., Director, Area Health Education Center UNR School of Medicine

In an effort to ensure a broad pool of technical expertise was available to the Task Force, the following individuals were added to the Technical Advisory Committee by a vote of the Task Force at the February 7, 2000 meeting. The Chairman has stressed that the committee comprises persons who will be requested to provide technical assistance and insights to the Task Force as it conducts the business of accomplishing its charge as articulated in SB 556.

· Dr. Richard Skelskey, Director, Las Vegas/Moapa Tribal Health Services

· Dr. Michael Rodolico, Executive Director, Health Access Washoe County

· Bill Welch, Nevada Hospital Association

· Michelle Oke, representative from Family Resource Center in Elko

· Susan Haase, Nevada Association of Health Plans (Health Maintenance Organizations/Preferred Provider Organizations Representative)

· Steve Smith, Administrator, Carson-Tahoe Community Hospital

· Dr. Don Kwalick, County Health Officer, Clark County

· Dr. Greg Carmichael, County Health Officer, Washoe County
