NEVADA LEGISLATURE
Nineteenth Special Session,
2003
ASSEMBLY DAILY JOURNAL
THE THIRD DAY
Carson City (Thursday), June 5, 2003
Assembly called to order at 11:31 a.m.
Mr. Speaker presiding.
Roll called.
All present except Assemblymen Goldwater and Mabey, who were excused.
Prayer by the Chaplain, Terry Sullivan.
Let us pray. There was a bad accident the other night. Steven
Driscoll, Sparks Deputy City Manager, and his son, were hit in an intersection
on their way home from this legislature. Lord, we pray that you provide them a
fast and complete recovery. And Lord, this body has a very, very difficult
decision to make in a very short period of time. We pray for Your help in this
process. And Lord, thanks for this great weather. It lifts the spirit of not
only men, women, and children, but all their horses, too. And we need that. So
now, Lord, our final request of the day is that You get us out of this building
as soon as possible so we can enjoy this fine weather. Thank You, Lord.
Amen.
Pledge of allegiance to the Flag.
Assemblyman Oceguera moved that further reading of the Journal be dispensed with, and the Speaker and Chief Clerk be authorized to make the necessary corrections and additions.
Motion carried.
