The Legislative Committee on Education is an ongoing statutory committee of the Nevada Legislature whose authority and duties are set forth in Nevada Revised Statutes 218E.600 through 218E.620. Meeting between the biennial sessions of the Legislature, the Committee reviews and monitors the condition of public elementary and secondary education. It may recommend legislation in a number of areas, including accountability, student performance, teacher preparation, compliance with federal requirements, and any other fiscal or policy concerns associated with public education.
